What is Help Wanted?

Help Wanted is the Local hub for same-week, hands-on work nearby — day labor, skilled trades, gigs, and people who are looking for work. It’s the place to browse when you need help soon, or want work this week.

In the product the label is Help Wanted; city URLs often use a /labor/ path under Local marketplace. Same board either way.

What’s on the hub

Side Examples
Hiring hands General labor, construction & trades, gigs, other job posts
I need work Looking-for-work / resume-style posts
Available for hire Pages that opted in so neighbors can hire them

Filters help you narrow by type (day labor, trades, gigs, and more) while you stay on the city Help Wanted page.

For hirers

  1. Open Help Wanted for your city from Local Jobs.
  2. Browse posts or Pages available for hire.
  3. Message the listing or Page and agree on timing and pay.
  4. Or post a job free if you don’t see a match.

For workers

  1. Open Help Wanted and switch to I need work when you want looking-for-work posts.
  2. Reply to hirers, or show you’re available on your Page.
  3. Optionally post that you’re looking so hirers can find you on the board.

How it fits with Jobs

Jobs is the full category tree (office, retail, professional roles, and more). Help Wanted focuses the same-week, hands-on slice so day labor and trades are easy to scan. Both use direct hire — see How Local Jobs works.
