How Local Jobs works
Local Jobs is where neighbors post work, find hands-on help, and connect through Pages — then hire and pay each other directly. FWDLink lists the opportunity; you agree on the details together.
The short version
| Idea | What it means |
|---|---|
| Direct hire | You and the other person agree on the work and pay |
| No job commission | FWDLink doesn’t take a cut of the job itself |
| Listings + Pages | Posts and Pages help you find each other nearby |
Fine print for accounts and use of the service lives in our Terms of Service. This guide is about how Jobs works day to day.
Two ways people show up
- Job listings — hire posts (including same-week Help Wanted) or “looking for work” posts on the Local marketplace.
- Pages available for hire — people who turned on Available for hire in Page settings so they appear on Jobs / Help Wanted in their city.
You can use either path — or both.
For hirers
- Open Local → Jobs (or Help Wanted) for your city.
- Browse categories, or post a job free with the Jobs category.
- Open a listing or a Page nearby and message them.
- Agree on scope, timing, and pay — then hire directly.
Same-week hands-on needs often fit Help Wanted best — see What is Help Wanted?.
For workers
- Browse Jobs / Help Wanted for work this week, or open Looking for work / resumes in your city.
- Create a free Page if you don’t have one yet.
- Optionally post that you’re available, or turn on Available for hire in Page settings (
/customize/?tab=settings). - Message hirers from their listing or Page and agree on pay directly.
Direct hire, plainly
Neighbors message, agree on the work and pay, and take it from there. Listings and Pages help you find each other. FWDLink isn’t a staffing agency and doesn’t sit in the middle of the paycheck for the job itself.
